About the artist

Hello! I am Nicole Pellegrino, owner of Snips and Snails Photography. Welcome!

I am a Hagerstown native (North High graduate) and attended George Mason University where I completed my undergraduate degree in Finance. While working as a senior budget analyst in the Pentagon for the Department of the Navy, I completed my Masters in Public Administration. I met my husband Stephen (a Greencastle native and Marine) in the DC area and we choose to return to our roots in Greencastle where we are raising our three children.

With the support of my family, I pursued a career change and sought out technical education in photography with a specific emphasis on child and family portraiture. I fell in love with the relaxed, loving atmosphere of newborn photography and have narrowed my business focus on just newborns (and their family) through babies able to sit unassisted (usually 6-8 months of age).

For those of you considering a newborn photography session with me, please keep in mind, I am a mother too and my family is everything to me. I know what those first couple of weeks of being home are like. I know how overwhelming it is to bring home a new baby! Since opening in 2008, I have photographed well over 1,000 newborns and each one comes with their own little built in personality. I want you to feel comfortable in my studio and with me. I realize you are walking through my doors, and if we have never met, handing over your most prized possession to a complete stranger. I get it! I want you to trust in my experience and expertise with your baby. I want you to be able to relax, even grab some behind the scenes photos if you wish! I want to capture these moments with your newborn as they go so very quickly, with you at ease. If you have any questions, please ask! And, if you feel like my photography and style are a good fit, I hope to work with you and your growing family! Over the years, clients have walked through my doors as strangers and leave as friends - often some of my closest as we watch our children grow together.
